Hawthorne Education Foundation
“It takes a whole village to educate a child”
Mission Statement
The Hawthorne Education Foundation was founded with the hope of nourishing and strengthening both the quality of Hawthorne’s educational system and the vitality of the community it serves. Through the use of private resources the Foundation is committed to supplementing the educational opportunities available to our children. To this end, the Hawthorne Education Foundation recognizes the importance of scholastic enrichment beyond the opportunities with the core curriculum; technology funding to enable our teachers to prepare our children for the workplace in the 21st century; professional development for teachers and administrators to pursue professional training not otherwise provided through traditional resources; opportunities for cross-cultural appreciation so that our children may be enriched by, and prepared for an increasingly interactive global community. The Hawthorne Education Foundation further recognizes that experiences in the Fine and Performing Arts will promote and enhance lifelong enrichment and enjoyment of the Arts for students, faculty and the community at large.
The Hawthorne Education Foundation operates independently from the school district for the sole purpose of its students. Foundation Trustees are corporate and community leaders who have donated their time and talents promoting the mission of the Foundation. Through your support the Hawthorne Education Foundation can become a vehicle of empowerment for our students, our teachers, our schools and our Community as we greet the dawn of a new century.
Your contribution could make a world of difference…so that our children might make a difference, in theirs.
